Angie's thoughts
I am 35 years old and currently 36 weeks pregnant with one child. Previously I have had mixed twins at 34 weeks in 1997. I laboured for 32 hours, slowly, eventually became fully dilated and had ventouse, forceps and then an emergency caesarian section as one of the babies went into distress. This birth was not a positive experience for me. I found both traumatic and decided to look at other options as I was not happy with the information and advice rom the NHS.
I found this website so informative and easy to use. The homebirth stories were so inspiring and focused on the positive aspects of all the births - what a difference to the horror stories I had been subjected to! I could really relate to the feelings expressed from real women and it gave the confidenceto pursue a h-bac (homebirth-after-previous-caesarian) for myself.
Chrissy and Caroline gvae me some great suppport and advice via e-mail and telephone. Even though they were not available to become my independent midwives, through their contacts I have found one that can be and am hoping to have a beautiful and positive homebirth story to tell all of my own!
