Becoming a midwife workshop

Date: Saturday 29th October 2016

Place: Merley. Nr WImborne, Dorset

 An exciting, highly informative and fun day for anyone thinking about becoming a student midwife and planning career in midwifery.

You might be a student taking an Access course: you might be taking a Distance Learning Course; you might be at school and looking at career options or you might be planning a career change.

This day will provide you with valuable insights insight into midwifery where we will look at the role of the midwife in depth; look at transferable skills, give you tips on writing personal statements; consider useful experience to help you gain that coveted place at University; find out about the practicalities of life as a student midwife and juggling finances, childcare and lots, lots more!

Spend the day with like-minded people and be inspired by the workshop facilitators ( an Independent Midwife and an NCT teacher as well as meeting one (if not two ) real, live student midwives .

 'Autonomous Midwife' workshop

Bournemouth 

on Sat September 10th from 10am-3pm.

We will be considering communicating risk and truly facilitating informed consent for women. We will use case studies and review the research evidence behind 4 pertinent topics:
Induction for prolonged SROM
Raised BMI
Obstetric cholestasis
Choosing home birth with risk factors
